Question: Hi, I have a 4 months old female doberman puppy and her ears are not cropted yet. Is it possible to crop the ears at 5th or 6th month? Is there any problem if I do this on her 5th or 6th month? My 2nd question is, is it necessary to crop the ears? Please help me because I'm a beginner. Thank you and more power.

Answer:You don't need to crop the ears, but I personally like the looks of cropped ears. It will run $250+ usually. But I thinks it's well worth it. My pup was $1000+ so an additional $250 was not an issue for me, he looks great now.
3-4 months is the usual timeframe, but 5 months is still OK, but they will blead more I think, and take longer to heal. Also, your trying to do it BEFORE their ears start to get 'hard / stiff' inside so you won't have to tape for as long as if you wait.
