Question: Hello! My dobe is now going 5months old and has a great appetite.I'm feeding him twice a day (in the morning and in the evening)with 2cups of puppy food (Beef Pro) + 1spoon of powdered milk (Nido)+ 1 cup of water. My neighbors are amazed on his rapid growth, I myself notices it as well. Is rapid growth OK? Some dog owners told me that I have to shift to adult dog food to slow down my dobe's growth but others say continue feeding puppy food until he's 1 yr old. Please help me to decide. Thanks.

Answer:YES they are correct don't let the puppy grow too fast or his bones and joints might be at risk. I switched to adult food around 5 months at the urging of my vet. My suggestion is listen to people who are familiar with big dogs.
